See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth, the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. Song of Songs 2:11, 12
Have you heard it yet? How I love the cooing of the doves in springtime. They seem to be whispering peace, peace. Quiet your racing heart and experience God’s wonderful peace. The little Carolina wren that nests all winter long in a hanging basket of dead flowers outside my kitchen window, gets up before dawn and merrily starts singing, ‘It’s here, it’s here!’ And I rejoice in knowing it’s true. Springtime has come once again. Tornadoes have all given way to sunshine, birdsong and
flowers. I feel like singing too. God is faithful and has renewed what appeared to be dead. The grass and the woods are sprinkled with lovely flowers and I am filled with hope.
And then came the spring snow storm on March 5 2012.
The snow is gone, the temperature is in the high 60’s and Ladd has his tennis ball. God is faithful and good. The time for singing has come! How Great Is Our God! Chairein! That is Greek for, Joy to you!
We are seeing evidence of spring here too in NE. The photo of the Cardinal in the snow–I just love hearing Cardinals, they are rather elusive around here. The dog snuggling with his tennis ball…awwww… Appropriate verse!
Ladd lost his tennis ball in the snow and was so happy when he found it. In many ways our pets are just like our children and it makes us happy when they are happy. And come to think about it, we as the children of God make our Father happy when we are happy. I am sure He delights in giving us good things that truly bring us joy and peace.
Beautiful photographs! I especially love the one of Sam with the puppy – soooo cute!
Thank you. Sam was the kind of baby you just couldn’t help but want to “hug him and squeeze him and kiss him and love him!”
Stunning! Thank you for sharing. x
Thank you Dianne. Don’t you just love it when God does something totally unexpected, awesome and beautiful! That was the way our Spring snowstorm was and because it only lasted one day I tried to enjoy every moment of it. It is like that with life too and I sure don’t want to miss out on it!!
Love all these photos. Especially the cardinal in the snow and Ladd clutching the tennis ball like a child with a stuffed toy!
Thank you. Every time I see a cardinal I feel like God is sending me a Valentine of love. I guess that sounds silly but they are such a delight and especially in the snow.
Gorgeous pictures! That is how it is for us … sunny one day, a snow storm the next 🙂 I love it all though! Your flower are soooo pretty!
Thank you, Jane. This snow storm was such an unexpected delight! This year we had only had a powdered sugar dusting of snow once or twice here in Ky. We use to love skiing in Vail and always enjoyed the snow and beauty of Colorado. I love all the seasons, each one seems to be the very best yet.

That snow with the blue sky is wonderful, and the red bird too!
Thank you, Cathy and thank you for dropping by. Springtime is such a wonderful time of the year, and I loved seeing the snow but was also very glad that it did not kill the blooms.

All for Him,

I love your blog name, Simply Striving. How true, and yet when we leave the journey to his wisdom we can relax and know that he has it under control. Thank you for the sweet comments.

Great photos! I especially loved the vibrant, red cardinal and Ladd trying to pull an icicle off the tree branch — such special moments you caught as a result of this magical snow! Nice post!
Thank you, it truly was a magical day.

love all the pictures, my favorites are Ladd sleeping with his tennis ball and the cardinals against the snow. Out here in the Pacific Northwest, mother nature is still trying to decide what seasone we’re in. Some sunny days, mostly cloudy, wet, windy and very cold. The birds are out and most definitely the worms. I love spring, the begining and renewal of so much life…
Hi Christine
So glad you stopped by and liked my post. I looked at your blog and loved your adventuresome spirit and the great photos of some of the places you have visited. I look forward to seeing more soon.
